The Typical SMP
Process for Men

Consultation

The journey starts with a consultation where the client’s concerns, goals, and desired results are discussed. Here, you can ask questions, view before-and-after photos, and get an idea of the expertise of the practitioner.

Design & Planning

Before beginning the procedure, the technician will discuss and design the desired hairline shape, side profiles, and, if applicable, density areas. It’s a collaborative process to ensure you get the look you want.

Pigment Selection

The practitioner selects a pigment that closely matches the client’s natural hair color, ensuring seamless integration with existing hair, if present.

The SMP Session(s)

Using specialized equipment, the technician implants the pigment to the scalp. This is done over multiple sessions, usually 2-3, spaced out over weeks to allow for healing and to build the density gradually.

Aftercare

Post-procedure care is very important. Clients will be instructed and guided on how to properly aftercare their treatment to ensure they retain the best results for the longevity. Please rest assure you are able to go back to your day to day life, immediately post treatment, with no downtime!

Touch-ups (If Needed):

Overtime the treatment will fade. The treatment is intended to fade! This is so we can maintain the natural look of the treatment and avoid the pigment changing colour or migrating / blurring (as this is what happens with body tattoos over time. Body tattoos are implanted much deeper in your skin and intended to last forever) The SMP treatment can last up to 3-4 years, however expect to have a single session maintenance treatment every 18-24 months to keep the results looking their best and fullest.

Conclusion

SMP offers a modern, minimally invasive solution to an age-old problem for men: hair loss. Its flexibility in addressing different types of hair concerns, from thinning to complete baldness, makes it a compelling choice for many.
The key lies in finding a skilled practitioner and understanding the procedure fully to set realistic expectations. For those on the fence, seeing the transformative potential of SMP can be the first step towards a renewed sense of confidence and style.
